Those are needed, as is a 5 volt, 5 amp supply to run it and the interface, feeding it to the pi at its gpio headers, not the otg jack. Also, same file IIRC, mousepoll's default setting makes the mouse run like its on a glue pad, set that to 1 for real time mouse motion. Wallies.
