In fact, very nearly bought from eBay, but I have regretfully
concluded that I have nowhere to put it.

It's an interesting design where the table is completely static and
the column slides across the back. (Not a unique idea, the Asquith and
Butler "Elgamill" uses the same approach. it scales well for making
very large capacity machines)

The Deckel apparently was working with LinuxCNC, but it seems that the
controller PC has died (BIOS battery?).
