Hi Marcus, Too late to play with the machine but your point #2 raises some questions.
I did first square off the ends of the box and bring it to within 0.001" of the target size. With the rough edges scraped off I then mounted it in the mill horizontally, cut the two slots and then cut the width. And it did snap in as the last bit was cut out so tabs are a good idea. Same could be said for the other part. If it stays as a box then the tabs will keep things stable. Material is 0.125" (3.175mm) 6061 extrusion scrap. I set the total depth of cut to 4mm. When we start talking about tabs the question comes up as to how many, how far apart. How big. The CAM software (MecSoft) can do rectangular or triangular. I can specify width and height and how many or how far apart. Attached screen grab shows 6 triangular 2mm high by 4mm wide. The second shows the screen for setting it up. How does one know what size tabs and how many?
