I tried with both kernels in normal and recovery mode, and always the same
black screen with the cursor blinking. The only topics I found like SOLVED
on debian forums were the ones (or may be one) that upgraded to a newer
kernel. The other topics led to nothing at all.

There are probably things that you can add to the grub command line
