The colour change in the UK was one of the worst ideas ever! being faced with 3x brown wires and guessing which is L1, L2 and L3 is about as useful as a brush with no bristles!
Red Yellow Blue / RYB always made sense to me as an on the tools electrician. neutral was always black.
