Hello, guys,
Last time when focer was asking whether anyone was using
`emms-score.el', my answer was no. While, as time goes by... :-) i find
myself very in need of something similar. Let me explain. (for those who
haven't used emms-score before)
I usually load all music files on my disk at Emacs's startup. There are
3939 songs now in the playlist buffer. Often, among these thousands of
songs, i find it difficult to pick out my favorate songs.
One solution is to save favorate songs to a playlist file. But then i
have to maintain/switch between two(or more) playlists, adding new to
the playlist, deleting old from the playlist..., which i think is
inefficient.
By introducing scores, however, i could simply assign a higher score to
favorate songs, and sort the playlist by score, to locate favorate
songs. When after a while, say, i dislike a favorate song anymore, i can
simply lower its score. Hence, i get all i wanted in a single playlist.
So, how about pulling it back if it's been kicked out? :-) I've just
modify emms-score.el to accommodate with changes in EMMS, and it works
okay now. (some mode line display issue not yet resolved, though.)
Finally, Gnus's point is,
I want to provide a "rad", "happening", "way cool" and "hep"
newsreader, that lets you do anything you can think of.
i'm asking, what's the point of EMMS? same, the coolest? :-)
