Oh right, "know for a fact that this used to work in the past" suggests
that it might have indeed been some kind of upstream change.

Pretty sure emms-player-mpv-start should never result in a paused
state, so added (emms-player-mpv-cmd '(set pause no)) there in 231741e,
which should fix the issue and works here.
