----------empyre- soft-skinned space----------------------
Thanks to you, Margaret, and to the List ingeneralfor the current theme, new to
me and fastalteringmy humble ideas on poetry and on robotics. Thedesignconcepts
recently discussed started me thinkingaboutthe international space station, a
robot Ithink someonementioned earlier. A bit of internet researchrevealsa good
deal of ongoing cooperation among India(ISRO), Russia (Roscosmos), NASA and
allthevarious other nations that join in. With allthe difficulties involved it
is that joint fascinationforfabrication, manufacturing in its
variousguisessthat stands out most clearly. Renate quotesMark Marino as saying,
/it is broken, glitchy/(as a process). And as Lynne DeSilva-Johnsonnotes, I
see, /we've always been cyborg -- in-terfacing with other machies [...] /.
Thanks again,to all. Best wishes, William
