Hi,
It seems one can use a Tools.ini file with

[NMAKE]
.SUFFIXES : .wasm .html

or add that .SUFFIXES like to the makefile.

I think it would be ok to support the 3-letter suffixes as recognized inputs, but to emit them by default would break existing users.

I know. Like I said, my python foo is ancient and bad, so I didn't even try. :)
I thought I would put it out there in case someone knew better than I

Is there really no way to get >3 letter suffixes in nmake on windows? I'm surprised this topic has never come up before.

I am surprised as well. But there is, as they have support for .dylib, which caused me to dig more. (I'm not windows dev and try not to use it)

ooo! I think there is with adding a

.SUFFIXES : .wasm .html

to the nmake Makefile

I just wonder if there is a way from the commandline...

    Hi *,

While working on Qt for WebAssembly on windows, nmake fails to build
with emscripten because MS have deemed it necessary to limit the
    filename extension to three digits.

Attached is a crude patch to change .html to .htm and .wasm to .was,
which  will allow builds using msvc/nmake to work. I am sure there is a
better way to do this, it is just a fast and dirty patch.

    I didn't both with .wast

My python foo is not good, so I didn't try to accommodate keeping .html     and .wasm extensions as well I didn't see any platform specific code in
    there.

    Thoughts?

Anyway someone would consider fixing this so msvc/nmake can build
    emscripten apps?
