To match llvm, binaryen, and many other projects that have already made the
switch I'm hoping we can transition emscripten fairly soon.

emsdk might be a little more tricky since there are many end users who are
using the emsdk directly from git (whereas with emscripten most users use
emsdk to get emscripten).  So my plan is to go emscripten first and leave
emsdk for later.

Are there any issues we are likely to run into that I might not be aware of?
