I've posted RFC7170-bis. This version is intended to have no changes from RFC 7170 except:
* adding myself as (Ed) * removing IANA considerations, as the registries already exist * reformatting due to to using Markdown as the source. The intent is to use this document as a baseline, and then add the errata as independent git commits. The goal is to make the smallest possible changes to the document which allow it to be published; * fixing errata * updating references * noting that this specification documents TEAP as implemented * perhaps mentioning TLS 1.3? TEAP is already deployed in a large number of devices. From my discussion with people in the industry, there are a number of plans to ship TEAP on more products in Q2 2023. As such, it would be good to have a document which allows implementors to be inter-operable. Given the short timeline and small focus of this document, I hope it can move forward quickly. > Begin forwarded message: > > From: [email protected] > Subject: New Version Notification for draft-dekok-emu-rfc7170bis-00.txt > Date: December 7, 2022 at 8:42:30 AM EST > To: "Alan DeKok" <[email protected]>, "Hao Zhou" <[email protected]>, > "Joseph Salowey" <[email protected]>, "Nancy Cam-Winget" <[email protected]>, > "Stephen Hanna" <[email protected]>, "Steve Hanna" > <[email protected]> > > > A new version of I-D, draft-dekok-emu-rfc7170bis-00.txt > has been successfully submitted by Alan DeKok and posted to the > IETF repository. > > Name: draft-dekok-emu-rfc7170bis > Revision: 00 > Title: Tunnel Extensible Authentication Protocol (TEAP) > Version 1 > Document date: 2022-12-07 > Group: Individual Submission > Pages: 98 > URL: > https://www.ietf.org/archive/id/draft-dekok-emu-rfc7170bis-00.txt > Status: https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-dekok-emu-rfc7170bis/ > Html: > https://www.ietf.org/archive/id/draft-dekok-emu-rfc7170bis-00.html > Htmlized: > https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/html/draft-dekok-emu-rfc7170bis > > > Abstract: > This document defines the Tunnel Extensible Authentication Protocol > (TEAP) version 1. TEAP is a tunnel-based EAP method that enables > secure communication between a peer and a server by using the > Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocol to establish a mutually > authenticated tunnel.
