Thank you for the draft.
We have been studying your solution with interest, and we believe that it is a
good solution.
The only concern about this draft is the extra round trip incurred by the
anonymous response that kicks start the process of fragmentation.
We understand the necessity of this step due to the limitation of the rigidity
of EAP type 1, strict MTU ceilings, and mutual protocol blindness.
Having said that, I think a discussion can be had about the underlying
assumptions regarding the baseline architecture and how changes can be made to
allow for fragmentation without the extra round trip, thereby allowing a more
streamlined initialisation process.
We also note that 3GPP has sent an LS and we believe that this issue is worth
addressing in the WG as it may impact 5G and future 6G.
