Hi,

The latest release of openssl-0.9.8m seems to break encfs.  Mounting an
encrypted file system seems to work, and the encrypted file names become
readable, but the files themselves are unreadable, giving a 'read  error'.

encfs: read offset 0, 4096
encfs: MAC comparison failure in block 0
encfs: error caught in read: MAC comparison failure, refusing to read

Upgrading openssl to:

openssl-0.9.8-stable-SNAP-20100303.tar.gz

fixes the problem.

Patching openssl-0.9.8m/crypto/evp/evp_locl.h against the the file in the
snapshot above fixes
the problem.

All the best,

===Rich
