Hello. The subject says it all: Is it possible to use EncFS without encryption? I just want the checksumming and modification detection functionality. The reason is, that I want to detect file corruption in my archive, as soon as it happens. By the way: Does EncFS only do checksums to check, or can it actually do ECC (e.g. reed-solomon-like) to fix the corruption? Because if yes, it would save me from having to do a lengthy restoration from backups.
(Or is there an alternative that can achieve this? One as transparent as EncFS?)
