It seems to me that a quick step any country can take against all genres of
violence is to vacate a space of two or three days every month that would be
declared and celebrated as 'no-violence' days. During this interval, not
only should communities plan events around themes of ending violence, but
there should be policy and national level debates, decisions and so on that
constitute mini-steps towards changing the public environment vis-a-vis
violence.
