SEEKING VIDEO ON LEGAL STRATEGIES AGAINST DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
Dear Members,
There is a video -- I think funded by Ford -- that gives three examples of
legal strategies dealing with domestic violence. The cases are South Africa,
India, and the US. I cannot find my reference for this video, but it raises
interesting questions and provides interesting examples of locally-designed
strategies. If its producers are still on this list, could you please tell
us how to get a copy?

SEEKING INFORMATION ON ADVOCATE PROGRAMS FOR VICTIMS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
I would like information on advocate programs for victims of domestic
violence. We plan to recruit and train volunteer advocates to advise victims
of their legal rights and to support and assist them throughout the legal
process. The Bar association has agreed to do training with us. One of our
goals is to increase the use of Protection Orders. If you have a similar
program and can share your experiences it would be helpful. Recruitment
methods, training, involvement of police and medical personnel, successes
and failures are welcome.
Thank you
