SEEKING INFORMATION ON ROLE OF SEXUAL VIOLENCE ON HIV IN SOUTH AFRICA
I am a anthropology student doing an independent research study on the
role of sexual violence on HIV in South Africa. I know that the proposed
links between the two have been accepted and rejected to varying extremes.
To begin, I am mapping the argument: to find out what is being said, where
is the debate, what is proposed and how is it received. Any information or
ideas or sources that people could share would be greatly appreciated. The
library here has only limited resources.
Thank you.

LOOKING FOR MANUALS FOR TRAINING OF ADVOCATES
I am planning the first training for DV Advocates. It would be helpful to
review manuals that other groups have used. Help and Shelter in Guyana
have shared their manual with us.
Thank you.

LOOKING FOR HOLISTIC APPROACHES TO ASSESSING IMPACT OF
DOMESTIC VIOLENCE ON CHILDREN
Hello Everyone,
I am situated in northern BC, Canada--listening and appreciating all
your conversations as they appear on my screen--and scrambling to
complete a first draft of a thesis on my conversations with children and
their mothers around their emerging awareness of the impact, on children,
of the father violence against the mothers (grounded theory--based on a
ecofeminist and relational model).
I would like to request specific references to successful holistic
approaches. I know of Kiwi Tamasese and Charles Waldegrave (Just Therapy)
in New Zealand (a wonderful healing place that addresses DV--published
articles should be reachable through Dulwich Centre).
One last thing -- one of my favourite books for reading on dark days is
"Creating Sanctuary" by Sandra Bloom and I wonder if anyone has any close
experience with 'the Sanctuary'?
Thank you for speaking to me through cyberspace --sometimes northern
BC feels very far away from actual successful programs-- so this listserv
keeps me visioning toward what is a possible future.
