SEEKING FILMS AND DOCUMENTARIES ON VAW AND PUBLIC HEALTH ISSUES
I'm considering developing some teaching around gender-based violence, to
raise broad public health issues, and explore the ecological framework
(individual, relationship, community, socetal influences on violence and
those areas as providing scope for interventions) for violence.
I was wondering whether people had ideas about particularly good films, and
also documentaries, that might be valuable resources for focusing attention
on issues and raising debate about risk factors, contributions to
occurrence, and possible responses.
Many thanks

LOOKING FOR RESEARCH ON SELF-DEFENSE PROGRAMS AND
SURVIVORS OF ASSAULT AND ABUSE
Does anyone know of any research on self-defense programs and survivors of
assault and abuse? Specifically, I am looking for info on how self-defense
helps survivors with recovery, self-esteem, efficacy, lower chances of
revictimization, etc. But I'm interested in anything out there on survivors
and self defense.
Thanks in advance.

LOOKING FOR MATERIALS REGARDING INTERPRETER AND VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN
Hi everybody
My name is Yukiko Nakajima currently phd student at social work program at
university of Minnesota. I have been working in the field of prevention
and intervention of domestic and sexual violence particularly focused on
immigrant, foreign or refugee women. I have done direct practice on
feminist counseling, advocacy and community education.
I would like to ask for your suggestion on the issue of role of interpreter
and domestic or sexual violence. I have many anecdotes about quality of
interpreter and service that women receive, but I have not seen systematic
study on the role of interpreter or quality of interpreter in relation to
violence against women.
If you could let me know any resources or resource person I should get in
touch with, I would truly appreciate.
Thank you in advance and peace
yukiko
