Our organization, Donetsk Regional League of Business and Professional
Women,  created a Working group on the prevention and
counteraction to trafficking in people. This group will operate in Donetsk
region, which is in the eastern part of Ukraine.

The Working group consists of the representatives of the following bodies:
- department of struggle with trafficking in women of Administration of
Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in Donetsk region;
- office of public prosecutor in Donetsk region;
- Administration of struggle with organized crime in Donetsk region;
- Court of Appeal of Donetsk region;
- passport and immigration services;
- Donetsk Regional Employment Center;
- specialists of Donetsk Regional League of Business and Professional Women.

The following strategy of the Working group was chosen: the active
collaboration of the members of Working group with the aim of improving the
effectiveness of preventive and rehabilitation work in the terms of
preventing trafficking in women. Also the tasks of the Working group were
defined as:
- conducting active broad precautionary work in the terms of preventing
trafficking in women;
- exchange of information with the aim of forming complete adequate picture
regarding the problem of trafficking in women in Donetsk region and Ukraine
in whole;
- editing of  joint information materials on the problem of prevention
violence in people;
- conducting of joint round tables, seminars, press-conferences on the
problem of prevention violence in people;
- accommodation of anti-advertisements in Mass Media on the problem of
prevention of violence in people;
- making contacts with NGOs, law-enforcement agencies and justice bodies of
other countries.

It was decided, that during January-February, 2002 League and Regional
Center of Employment have to accommodate anti-advertisements in mass media
on the problem of prevention of violence in people, so the results of this
anti-advertisements can be analyzed during the next meeting of the Working
group. Also the members of the Working group decided to exchange with the
urgent information with the aim of solving specific situations connected
with the problem of trafficking in women. Regional Center of Employment took
an obligation to inform the members of Working group about new legislation,
which regulate employment of Ukrainian citizens abroad.
