Hi Rubén, The focus of Solaris has been changed from OpenSolaris target for developer to Solaris for Enterprise, security and stability become high priority. Something like Firefox ESR <https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/organizations/>is a good solution for Solaris.
Thanks for bring this idea. GNOME2 mimic is similar as GNOME fallback mode we talked about several years ago. This might be something that Oracle to do in future.
