James, yep. I have built one of my web-apps upon the two rails-engines and a personalized rss-feed is a must sooner or later, so I'll have to implement it anyway. I'll open a ticket in the bug-system for http basic auth support and will attach a patch to it as soon as I am done (unless someone else already has done it by then). Does that sound ok?
