If anyone is interested in following the merry adventures of Bilbo Baggins, the Hobbit, at a slightly faster pace than I am doing, there is a Tolkien discussion group doing a read-a-long of The Hobbit. They just started Chapter 2. This is just an English speaking group reading and discussion the book, but it might be a good way for those of you learning English to practice your English).
