Hello Kevin and all of silent member,

If you or anyone wants to practice your written English, just go
ahead!

Although, it's a pity this forum is so feature limited. Well, let me
explain myself better, and don't pay much attention to my words, it's
just that sometimes I feel helpless because of so many (I guess)
silent members:

Since last week, I've found a new site: http://my.spanishdict.com/
with a lot of members, most of them use to post in English, so I
didn't hesitate in sign in to take advantage of that fact.

Well, that site is a sort of portal to learn Spanish (and English, for
spanish speakers). The forums are web-based, contrary to Google
Groups, which are e-mail oriented (I consider this latest a bad
thing).

In SpanishDict, you can subscribe to any thread you are interested in,
and you receive in your email inbox, notifications related to the
threads you are subscribed.

I mean, it's a high-activity group, where you can control the messages
that go through your inbox. And members are not afraid to participate
because they can write in English or in Spanish, or both.

Well, it's a pity we can do so here, because of the multi-cultural/
language nature of our group.

But... In that Group (sorry for the comparison), I see people not care
if they write or not in 'perfect' Spanish, and others simply prefer
write in English.

And also, many of them are extremely focused on grammar stuff (a bad
thing).

I wonder if having a site like that our group would have any positive
change.

It's a pity the software of our group don't have 'metrics' (number or
views per page). And the uncertainty of not knowing how many we really
are, it's something that doesn't help. There is a saying: what can't
be measured can't be improved (or something like that).

Well, that's just my perception.

Thank you,

Pablo
