Hello Pspad users and Jan. Having heard of Pspad in some blog comments I immediately gave it a try and now, it's my default editor (I used Edit+ till yesterday). My reason for searching for an editor was the absence of a good Ruby, RubyOn Rails editor for windows. To my surprise PsPad did very well with this job and has nearly all my needs filled :) For acomplishing this, please accept my congratulations. Keep up the great work! Here is my humble wish and buglist though: - Think it like a project feature, but it would be nice if the sidebar with files and folders was dynamic, ie. if I create some files in windows explorer they would show up in that project pane too. Basically, it would be very nice if the project could be mapped to a directory and all new folders and files that are created withing that folder were automatically available in project pane. Is it possible to do this currently without manually adding every newly created file or folder? For example dragging and dropping my working directory to the file pane of editor window would open only on that folder and it's subfolders. See this example: (viz http://clintology.com/external/textmate_colors.jpg ) - Editor improvements (I know they depend on 3rd party editor component, but again): *Better syntax highlighting (support ruby symbols, definitions, variable types, etc) *Code folding (oh my :)) *Indent guides (really helps reading code) *Code templates that could be added with abbreviations. (ex: you type "rdc" and press Tab, and it automatically completes the line with redirect_to controller code) *Ability to split the window and see different files in top an bottom views. (this is possible currently only with the same file as far as I know) *I would also want autocompletion feature (like that vbscript files does) but customizable within the editor. - Some bugs: *When matching bracket is highlighed in files with black background, one of the brackets disappears. It is still there, but appears in black. Reproducable, see picture below: (viz http://www.amiroff.com/bug1.gif ) *The bottom and right side of editor flickes when switching between tabs. A little disturbing on latenight dev sessions. QUESTION: I am currently working on Clip Definition file for Ruby and Rails and will share it with community when done, is there any help with .DEF files anywhere? Also, could the be a feature that let us define default clip for a tag and autoinsert it after pressing tab. Some clips have multiple entries and it really takes time to browse for the right "table" tag in drop down menu or select the first one and press enter when parameters are being asked. In short, could we have default clip inserted with "Tab" press and others (customized ones) with Ctrl+Space? Sorry for a novell, but I really like the editor and want it to improve even more. Thanks again for your attention and such a great editor! I really enjoy it... -- PSPad freeware editor http://www.pspad.com
