I have a PHP file (346KB, 7354 lines). When I do CTRL+F, Put "$" (without
quotes) into the search field. Search "Entire Scope" with none of the
check boxes checked and press the "Count" button, I get a bunch of
"(", ")", "[", and "]" get randomly placed all over the bottom
half of the screen. It replaces text in my code. It searches through the
code, and when it is done, all goes back to normal and it tells me how
many "$"s were in my code (6309).
I tried a few other searches "a", "*", and other random words and none
of them had the same results ("a" was found 11000+ times -- so "$"
wasn't maxing anything out).
I am not able to take a screen shot, because the page is not refreshing
correctly--the screen shot just shows the final result.
The first time it did it was a freaked out and thought my code was being
screwed up. I Ctrl+Alt+Del immediately. But I tried again on some other
files I didn't care about and it didn't change it.
