Please bear in mind that not everybody uses text editors to write programs. For us system administrators this kind of editor, with sort facilities, regular expression support, column selection, compare... are really useful. In this kind of role the ability to open configuration files of other computers remotely via ssh/sftp/scp makes some tasks very painless. Right now it is the only feature from UltraEdit that I miss on PSPad -- PSPad freeware editor http://www.pspad.com
