Hi PSPad family, today I had to search for some (version-) strings in an executable and take them down as text. I know I could have written some code to extract the text from the exe and put it in a file, but my first thought was to do it with PSPad. I opened the exe in PSPad hex editor, searched and selected the text I needed and tried to copy it, but what I got was not when I pasted the selection to a text file was not what I had expected. It was the hex-code of the selected string. Is there a way to copy a selection from the hex editor as text? If there's not I'd suggest to add a "Copy as text" menu entry for the hex editor.
