Hello, I thought about some stuff that could have been added to PSPad, which would be very useful. -> Add to windows-context menu a entry like "Open with PSPad" and "Open with PSPad Hex Editor". I mean: Right Mouse to a file -> like "Open", "Send To", "PGP Zip". This would be really useful. Additional stuff with the hex-editor: -> You should be able to insert several bytes into the file opened with Hex Editor. -> A small list with all information about a marked byte. --- Value: 'o' Offset: 0x8A Hex Value: 0x6F Binary Value: 0110 1111 Decimal: 111 Decimal inc. negative Numbers: 111 --- -> A better find methode in Hex Editor - like searching for Hex-Strings (4D5A8000) too -> When you mark the left side, you can copy the real string, but when you mark the right side, and you press ctrl+c (copy), you copy the real string too. It would be important to copy hex-strings too, maybe even binary. -> Open the data of the whole harddisk and the whole partition (splitted in 512 byte blocks). This is VERY important when you do reverse engineering, code/discover boot loader, directory entrys, ectect... PSPad is the best editor I know - really really useful. We use it at work for web-developement. When you have .html, .css, .php, sql, and js files, the great syntax highlighter is awsome. The direct FTP connection is VERY useful. ect.ect... we love it!!! and use it for most applications we code :) Now i hope this great editor becomes also the best Hex-Editor I know. I've used Hex Workshop Pro, but it's 40-day trial - so i've deleted and and try to use PSPad instead of it. but the things i've mentioned are really missing - especially when you have to do much with binary, reverse engineering, ect :) thanks for reading + maybe answere (email would be good too), Mario -- PSPad freeware editor http://www.pspad.com
