I have the same problem. It doesn't seem to depend on the file. PSPad hangs when opening the File menu or hitting the 'close' button on the top right of the window. Is there any logfile I could send you? It must have to do something with the system configuration. The same PSPad worked greatly for some weeks, then suddenly began with this annoying behavior.
