And it should be a directory where you do have write access.
While /usr and /usr/local are generally a sensible default, there is
no benefit in installing enigma as "root". You don't need
administrative privileges, so you should NOT use them. Just use a
prefix that is inside of your home directory, such as
/home/what_ever_your_login_is/dev/enigma/installed is a good idea.
It's trivial to make a link to the enigma application in there, or run
it with ~/dev/enigma/installed/bin/enigma
