Hi there,

since I upgraded my machine to Ubuntu 12.04 I experience weird wrapping of long
quote lines.

SOFTWARE & SETTINGS
Enigmail: 1.5.2
Thunderbird: 17.07

I use the following settings in Thunderbird:
mail.wrap_long_lines = true
mailnews.wraplength = 80

LONG DESCRIPTION
Pasting a long line of 77 characters as quote the resulting line length is 79
characters (+ '> ') and with the newline the line length is 80 characters.

Pasting a long line of more than 77 characters as quote the resulting line
length exceeds 80 characters. Quoted lines exceeding the wrap length are not
wrapped by Thunderbird, even with whitespace in the line.

When hitting the 'Send' button, Enigmail asks me for my passphrase. The quote
with a too long line has been changed by Enigmail to fit into the wrap length.
If there is whitespace, Enigmail will use the whitespace to break the line,
otherwise it will push all letters after the wrap length into a new line.

Example #1:
> abcdeABC abcdeABCD abcdeABCD abcdeABCD abcdeABCD abcdeABCD abcdeABCD abcdeABC

Contains exactly 79 characters + newline. It is not broken into several lines by
Enigmail.

Example #2:
> abcdeABC abcdeABCD abcdeABCD abcdeABCD abcdeABCD abcdeABCD abcdeABCD abcdeABCD

Contains one additional character. Enigmail will break this into:
> abcdeABC abcdeABCD abcdeABCD abcdeABCD abcdeABCD abcdeABCD abcdeABCD
> abcdeABCD

It is getting weirder, when several too long lines appear in one e-mail.

This comes out the following way:

http://example.com/longURL/demonstration_of_tb17.0.7_enigmail_1.5.2_line_breaking_behaviour.lzma

Note that the first link is not broken, while the second is put outside the
quotation.

Another example to show you what it looks like with several quotes.

I wrote some stuff on that problem, you can get it here:

The result of several short lines:

As expected.

When cancelling the signing and using 'Undo', I can see several changes made to
the text, some just displaying the original text "Enigmail".

So, this behaviour appears to be caused by Enigmail, when 'Sign Message' is
selected. I cannot see this problem, when 'Use PGP/MIME for This Message' is
used, i.e. the signature is not inlined, but attached, which means that Enigmail
apparently does not need to fiddle about the contents. That is the reason, why I
sent this e-mail using PGP/MIME. ;)

I could not find anything about that problem on the internet. Therefore, I
suspect that something on my side needs to be 'special', so nobody else on the
web ever had that problem and reported it.

If you need any further information, please feel free to ask. I have one
request, though: before asking me to reproduce this with the latest and greatest
version, please try for yourself. This bug, if it exists for other people also,
should be reproducible in seconds.
