* Loading IMAP parts on demand: if this option is on, then mails larger ca. 40 kB will only be downloaded partially by Thunderbird. If such a mail is a PGP/MIME mail then Enigmail can't decrypt it because it is incomplete. * Flowed text and inline PGP are two incompatible standards. In other words, if flowed text is allowed, then Thunderbird, just like any mail transfer agent and the recipient mail client are free to change whitespaces and line feeds. However, changing a single byte in a signed mail breaks the signature. * View message body as plain text and writing HTML mails go together. Enigmail cannot decrypt or verify HTML messages if they are inline signed or encrypted * 8-bit encoding - this means UTF-8. It's the recommended character set as defined by RFC 4880 (the OpenPGP standard).
