Replying from webmail, since your message showed the same problem - looks as though signing as well as encryption triggers it.
Yes, I do have the Folder Account extension, so that I can ensure the correct identity is used for mailing lists. I'll try disabling it, to see whether that is the culprit, but I really don't want to lose that facility.
