the above doesn't look like it's being run from a cmd prompt. If
you're running windows 7, click the start button, and then in the
search box, type "cmd" (without the quotes) and hit enter.

you'll get what passes for a terminal environment on windows.

In that box, try running the gpg commands and seeing what output
you get -- i think this should produce more copious logs than
you're currently seeing.

Dooh, youre right of course, i should go to bed...

So cmd says:

C:\Users\Daniel>gpg --charset utf-8 --display-charset utf-8
--keyserver-options ca-cert-file=C:\Users\Daniel\s
ks-keyserver.netCA.pem --keyserver-options debug --command-fd 0
--no-tty --batch --fixed-list --with-colons --
keyserver hkp://hkps.pool.sks-keyservers.net:11371 --search-keys
[email protected]
gpg: suche nach "[email protected]" auf hkp-Server
hkps.pool.sks-keyservers.net
SEARCH [email protected] BEGIN
info:1:1
pub:4229D21B:1:4096:1401723665::
uid:Daniel <[email protected]>:1401723665::

SEARCH [email protected] END

hm, i'm having a hard time reading the line breaks in this, and i'm also
not seeing anything close to it when i do the search myself.

I get *lots* more content, including indications of what IP address was
used, etc.

even if the certs don't match at least i get the following info from gpg
2.0.22:

0 dkg@alice:~$ gpg2 --no-tty --batch --fixed-list --with-colons
--keyserver-options debug --keyserver-options

i'm not sure what to suggest. maybe someone with windows experience or
a windows test installation can chime in here?

        --dkg
OK thanks for taking the time! Maybe Ill try it tomorrow again using a VM with a fresh install, its Windows, so everything is possible...
time for bed now...

Daniel
