-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA256 A friend of mine and I were poking around with fingerprints and noticed a discrepancy. He is on Windows 7 and I am on Xubuntu. Both of us are using Enigmial 1.6. However, when we look at a keys fingerprint using Enigmail, we get different results.
I get the primary keys fingerprint as expected. However, he gets the subkeys fingerprint instead. This seems to be related to how the version of GnuPG we have on our machines respond to the --fingerprint command. On my machine GnuPG will only report the primary keys fingerprint. But on his machine it reports both the primary and subkeys fingerprint. Enigmail is only seeing the last fingerprint (the subkey) and reporting that. Is this expected behavior? Is there a workaround? Would updating to 1.7 help? Thanks!
