Ludwig : it has happened again with a different email, another person whose key
was not in my keyring. The behavior was exactly as described in my previous
mail (the first one).

This time I've got the enigdbug.txt file.

The file shows that enigmail did download the public key using the first named
of the standard set of keyservers in the preferences/keyservers tab although I
had not filled in the subsequent field nominating a particular keyserver.

Is this normal ?

Somehow enigmail did not catch up with the fact that that particular key had
been received. Key manager when opened independently had not been updated.

I exited Thunderbird, saved the debug file and restarted. This time that key
was visible in key manager.

I would be happy to send you the file but would prefer it to be off list.

Please let me know.

Philip
