There are basically two possibilities:

1. Edit your gpg.conf file. Add a line like:

        default-key <YourKeyId>

This only works if you have only one key. Otherwise maybe

        default-recipient-self

is an option, but I didn't test it together with Enigmail.


2. Edit the prefs.js file in your Thunderbird profile directory and
add the line (at best after the existing enigmail settings):

        user_pref("extensions.enigmail.encryptToSelf", true);

Close Thunderbird beforehand! And, als always, keep a backup!

I would consider the first option a bit safer, as messing up your
prefs.js is usually only detected when it's too late, if you have no
backup. This is because Thunderbird rewrites the prefs.js upon program
close.
