I'm not quite sure what you are trying to do here, but in Gmail (in the
browser) you can also add a second identity or alternate from address.
Log in to the mail.google.com, click on the Settings icon and choose
Settings. Now choose the Accounts and Import tab and here you can add
other e-mail addresses that you own.
Once configured there, you can use them in Gmail as the sender for your
emails...
