Hi all,

I am running into a usability issue that may be related to those raised
in Sept-Oct on this list (subject: "Odd behaviour of Enigmail 1.7.2").

I draft an email to a recipient whose public key I have. I have signing,
encryption, and PGP/MIME on by default. I proactively turn off
encryption and/or signing, which is verified in the visual cues in the
Compose window as well as the Enigmail menu in the Compose window.

However when I select Send, the confirmation dialog tells me that the
email will be sent encrypted and signed, overriding my very clear
instructions with this particular email to be unencrypted/unsigned. And
the subsequent email is indeed signed & encrypted, even though I have
explicitly set that particular email to be not.

I thought the issue might be in Enigmail Preferences --> Sending with
the option Automatically Send Encrypted, as the language of the tooltip
suggests that only a per-recipient rule can override the setting, versus
manually override. However I changed it from If Possible to Never and
run into the same issue.

This was not an issue with previous Enigmail versions. This is still an
issue with the latest nightly release 1.8a1pre.

Any guidance appreciated.

Thanks,
Michael
