Alternatively in the advanced tab of the Enigmail preferences there's
an "additional parameters" box.  I put a "-v" in there (just one for
general usage) so that if I really need or want to check something,
there will be useful output in the Enigmail Console.  That will
definitely reveal hash data in messages that were signed and
encrypted, but I'm not sure about without encryption (I normally only
check it when I can't decrypt something the sender believes I should
be able to).
