In the reported bug, they mention explicitly that the passphrase has
to be entered wrong 3 times. In my case already at the first time the
message "The revocation certificate has been successfully created"
pops up.
Of course a proper exit status of gnupg would be desired but wouldn't
it be a work around to just check if the file, that should contain the
revocation certificate, exists after the export. If it does not, the
export was obviously not successful.
