Hi,

I usually sort my mails as threaded view in Thunderbird (I use an addon
called ThreadKey[1] but I think it's possible via about:config too). One
of my contacts writes me encrypted mails with (I guess) the Memory Hole
feature[2].
When I receive a new (encrypted) mail, its subject is "Encrypted
message" (like intended). Then I decrypt it and its "real" subject takes
place. Since this subject stays there after my key gets locked, I assume
the decrypted subject gets cached(?).

However, Thunderbird doesn't recognize mails with encrypted subjects to
belong together. I don't know how Thunderbird knows which mails should
go together, but I think it has something to do with these encrypted
subjects. And so it shows every mail with encrypted subject as own
threaded view.
And since the subject gets cached anyway, it would be nice to have only
one thread for one conversation.

I'm using Thunderbird 45.2.0 with Enigmail 1.9.4 (20160704-1534) on
xUbuntu 16.04.
And I'm happy to provide more information if needed. If yes, which
information?

Thanks.
Best regards,
Valentin
