Most readers do not give a whit about your web design creativity.
Furthermore, not every potential patron or user has the latest Apple
retina display. The sole criteria of your value is whether the
information that you have gets across the screen and into users’ brains,
without hurting or challenging their eyes, and without presenting some
visual puzzle.

While I certainly agree with your sentiments, I'm not seeing grey text on the enigmail web site. Can you give some example URLs?
