I see two possible reasons for this:
a) Enigmail did not update its own key cache
b) the expiry date of some subkey(s) was not extended

For a) go to the Enigmail Key Manager and Reload the Key Cache (menu
File). For b) check the properties of your key by double clicking on it.
Then switch to the "Structure" tab.
