Brian, Check my earlier post on the issue. Freetype 2.1.2 is broken. I have patched RH8.0 rpms on my site if thats what your running otherwise update your distro to 2.1.3 freetype or downgrade to 2.0.X as per one of rasters posts ;) This link explains the issue with 2.1.2 and several of the ecvs ttfs http://lists.debian.org/debian-openoffice/2002/debian-openoffice-200208/msg00035.html My working RH8.0 2.1.2 freetype rpms are available here.
