Thanks for your reply. I am basically looking for the way to lauch elogin when I boot in runlevel 5. I have seen that the session manager is chosen by /etc/X11/prefdm. I looked at the script and it gets some environment variables from /etc/sysconfig/desktop. However it is not clear to me how to set these variables to get elogin to launch.
