Update libwnck, wich is the gnome2 library that makes the panel applets in question.
This may only be necessary if you use E's "large desktops".
Large desktop support has been implemented in libwnck after version 2.3.0 (it is in cvs but hasn't been released yet).
For RH-8.0 get http://www.woelders.dk/~kw/stuff/gnome/RPMS-Test/libwnck-0.18-kw4.i386.rpm
For RH-9 get http://www.woelders.dk/~kw/stuff/gnome/RPMS-Test/libwnck-2.3.0-kw4.i386.rpm
If you don't want to install some weirdo's binary RPM's (which you shouldn't), the source RPM's are there too.
