Please send your work (menu as well as epplet stuff) as patches to the current CVS version to this list. Hopefully people will try it out and comment.
I'm on holiday the next three weeks, and will not be able to test or commit anything, and will only read e-mail occasionally.

What is the procedure for submitting some peripheral bits which might be worth including in the E16 package? I have:
1. A Perl script which parses KDE2/3 menu structures and creates an E menu from them. This handles duplicated directory names and menus of any depth. It has been tested on Red Hat 7.1 and 9.0, Slackware 9.0 and Mandrake 9.1 (although you have to finagle Mandrake because they have altered the way E installs). If no one else has already taken care of this, I need someone to tell me where the menu root and
icon files are located in some of the other distros and test the result.
Unfortunately, GNOME2 has defeated me so far.
2. A striking clock Epplet which displays a digital time/date and will strike the hours or the ship's watches using a variety of sounds. It also has an alarm function and provision for setting the system clock from an NTP server if you do not use "ntpd" in background. I have been using it for a while and a couple of other people have played with it but it needs some "beta".
