I have found that the enlightenment windows do not respond to clicking the "Show Desktop Button". I believe the proper window response is to minimize all windows. on the current desktop
Yes, I didn't implement that. This feature (the _NET_SHOWING_DESKTOP hint) is intended for window managers that have a "showing the desktop" mode. E doesn't have that. According to the Extended Window Manager Hints specification, it is not mandatory to support it.
Actually, I think it is a bug in whichever application showed a "Show Desktop Button". It should have checked whether or not the window manager has the feature before showing the button.
