Yup. I've known about DestopX for quite a while (about 2 years). I even tried
running it on XP & win2k a while back too - had it going. was a bit of a paint &
wasn't that slickly done, but it did work.

Have I mentioned the "desktop canvas" yet? Those on #edevelop or on the mailing
lists or even on e may have heard me mumble about a "remote canvas" or also a
"Desktop canvas". basically is a single Evas canvas for the desktop thats able
to be used by multiple client programs via IPC. why do you think I had a strong
motivation to put IPC into Ecore? it's there now :) The only question in my mind
is, at what level to put the IPC and how much should be allowed and how much
should be imposed by desktop canvas policy... all of these are still questions,
BUT in development for E17 all these "building blocks" have been built to make
such a thing easily possible, with all the hard work done for the programmer by
libraries.

Anyway - stay tuned I guess. :)
